Take
Take. is a short action sequence that I directed, produced, edited, sound designed, color graded, and wrote for “Basic Cinematography” class.
The assignment was to make a sequence of images that flow smoothly from one shot to the next.
Sound designed with Ableton Live 11, edited and color graded in iMovie.
Portrait of A Space
“Portrait of A Space” was made for my “Basic Cinematography” class, in which I was assigned to examine different parts of a location.
I decided to recreate my personal balcony in a smaller form, using an assortment of tools I found around my house.

Sound Design
Amelie Scene
This is a scene from the 2001 movie, “Amelie.” I was given the scene video only and assigned to add ambient, natural sound… (add buzz words) to sound design the way I perceived. Made using Ableton Live 11.
Softwares Used: Ableton Live 11, Logic Pro X, Adobe Audition
Fallout 4 Trailer
This trailer is an edit and sound design I made for “Post Production” class, in which I was assigned to sound design to my liking.
I chose to combine two pieces of Fallout 4 content in Adobe’s Premiere Pro in order to build up the world of Fallout around the trailer itself, and used Logic Pro X for the sound design.
FILM EDITING
Jacuzzi Short Film
This is a video-only edit I made for “Basic Editing” Class, in which I was given raw footage from the 2008 short, “The Spa”, and had to edit together the story in a shorter run-time than it’s original time of 8 minutes. Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro. (original raw sound not touched)

About
Michael Angelo Messina
Meet Michael Angelo,, a college student majoring in film. Michael’s love for the creative arts began at a young age, as he was constantly tinkering with instruments and creating his own short films. Now, in college, he is pursuing his passion for film by studying the industry and honing his skills in sound production, animation, and game design.
Michael’s love for music production began with his interest in creating original scores for his films. This passion has grown to become a part of his larger repertoire, as he now spends considerable time producing and mastering his own music and collaborating with his friends and colleagues.
Michael’s enthusiasm for animation and game design has led him to collaborate on multiple game development projects with his friends outside of classes and studying under Tony Rowe, one of the founders of Call of Duty.
Michael enjoys learning new techniques in sound engineering and experimenting with new production equipment. He is excited to see himself grow and perfect his skills with the support he is receiving from his professors, peers, and online communities.
Michael is also experimenting in Artificial Intelligence (AI) which he used to create the background video found at the top of the page and this bio. LOL
